Denver—July 14, 2022 Mascoma Bank has awarded a grant totaling $4,500 to Dental Lifeline Network, with three state programs receiving $1,500 of the grant, each. The recipient state programs include Dental Lifeline Network • Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. This grant is intended to help vulnerable individuals in the state get critical dental care through the Donated Dental Services (DDS) program.
In Maine, this grant will help 115 people receive $301,000 worth of comprehensive dental care. In New Hampshire, this grant will help 64 people receive $175,000, of the same care, while in Vermont, 45 people will receive $126,000 in treatment. Dental Lifeline Network appreciates the invaluable support of Mascoma Bank.
The funds will support the coordination of services provided through 158 dentists and 19 labs in Maine, 133 dentists and 15 labs in New Hampshire, and 43 dentists and 6 labs in Vermont, all of whom volunteer through the Donated Dental Services (DDS) program. DDS volunteers donate comprehensive treatment to people with disabilities or who are elderly or medically fragile.
The Maine DDS program has provided over $5.7 million In donated treatment to over 1,600 patients since it began in 1999. The New Hampshire DDS program has provided over $4 million in donated services to over 865 patients since it began in 2002. The Vermont DDS program has provided over $480,000 in donated services to 115 patients since it began in 2013. Mascoma Bank’s grant is a significant contribution to the cumulative celebration happening for the DDS program nationally.
For over 35 years, DLN has partnered with volunteer dentists, laboratories, and strategic corporate partners across the country and connected people with special needs to comprehensive dentistry. This past August, DLN reached a new milestone: $500 Million in donated dental treatment! That’s half a billion dollars of care which has helped 165,000 individuals.
