Mahrukh Khwaja discusses why she got into dentistry and what she hopes to create into the future that might help dental professionals feel happier.

Dr Mahrukh Khwaja is founder and CEO of Mind Ninja; a well-being startup providing resilience and well-being training to dental professionals so they can thrive in any environment.
Her passion for preventative well-being education led Mahrukh to create the Mind Flossing Toolkit; a deck of well-being cards to boost happiness, mindfulness and self compassion at work and at home.
Mahrukh has worked with a diverse range of organisations. These include King’s College London, BDA, Acteon, Oxford NHS, Dentinal Tubules, BARD and Tipton Training.
She has written the mental health chapter for Shaz Memon’s book: Instagram for Dentists. And she is due to publish a book on well-being next year with Wiley-Blackwell.
Mahrukh was shortlisted as a finalist for the Private Dentistry Awards 2021 and 2020.
Mahrukh is a dentist, with over 11 years’ clinical experience, a positive psychologist, an accredited mindfulness teacher and holds a masters in applied positive psychology.
