Celebrating 100 years young

by adminjay

This October Takara Belmont celebrates its centenary – here we take a quick look through its history.

The company started out originally making parts for daily essentials such as clay charcoal stoves; 10 years later it ventured out into the manufacture of barber chairs.

These chairs are iconic within the industry and offer the same levels of functionality and durability as their dental counterparts, which they started to manufacture in Osaka 1921.

Belmont also added X-ray equipment to the dental portfolio. As well as being a key supplier to the dental and hairdressing sector, the company also supplies surgical tables for the medical industry.

A proud heritage

The company today is proud of its history and heritage. And also its distribution network that encompasses 120 countries around the world. Its ethos has always been to support the work of professionals who use its equipment and the clients/patients it serves.

The company committed to reducing its carbon footprint. It has launched a project to achieve zero waste within its business.

Speaking on behalf of the UK arm of the business Belmont UK, managing director Stephen Price says: ‘Belmont equipment is renowned for its robust engineering. No wonder, it’s so popular in dental schools.

‘Innovation is integral to Japanese manufacturing. Over the years dental treatment centres evolve and now include the aesthetic features demanded by the industry, along with the durability for which we are renowned.’
