Apple makes it too difficult to report problems these days, probably because they don’t want to hear about them. Jun 11, AM in response to plbrooke Apple has not updated Windows version of the airport utility since Win7 and is likely to never bother again. It keeps telling me there’s a newer version available, but вот ссылка then says it doesn’t work on this iPod Touch.

Airport Utility is an outdated software as almost all phones nowadays already supports mobile hotspot, providing fast internet to other devices without the need for clunky, buggy computer software like Airport Utility. The fact that it only supports Airport Utility is useful if you’re looking to connect other devices to the network, like printers, fax machines etc The steps to set up are fairly similar to those in in this area of it class. It is free to use too. There really isn’t much to lose off of attempting to use it.

Easy internet access too, didn’t seem too hard just download, install, and open. If you are anything like me and travel a lot, then this is for you! This app helps you configure airport wifi in a safe and easy way. Connecting to airport wifi has never been easier.

You can manage hard drives and USBs all in a new and safe way! This app also works with great speed so you do not have to wait very long. This software is absolutely perfect! I want to program in when my kid can’t get wifi on their phone and laptop. This is possible but awkward, requiring many clicks. Once one gets to the point of programming the access restriction, it is actually a bit confusing whether one is delineating times wifi is allowed or not allowed.

Also, it is set on a 24 hour day, so there is not one easy way to say no wifi all night, starting at 10pm on one day and going till 7am the next. One must program 10p then 12am to 7am on a separate “restriction. I also would like to be able to have a quick way to force wifi off for my kid’s tech quickly and easily, like “stop access now and for the next x hours, just this one time” or similar. This app does not provide anything even close that sort of immediacy. Finally, when we are using access restrictions for one or two devices, it somehow seems to gum up the works for every other device in the house as well.

The app is essential for managing Apple Airport devices, and I use it to handle many. Configuring access management is limited, and NAT and port mapping seems restricted as well.

The first is that I cannot scroll to see the far left devices without the screen snapping back to center. It’s just the Airport Utility cannot find the airport by scanning.

However, if I do a File Configure Other If I click the Update button, it will update the configuration, but then it fails to auto-reset the device, complaining again that it cannot find the device.

I’ve searched quite a bit online for a solution but haven’t found one yet. Oct 11, PM in response to mdbratch. Go to the administration from control panel and check all the services are running..

I guess most people who own apple routers will at least have iphone, ipad, ipod even. It is far better to use the app in apple device than using windows. Aug 18, AM in response to LaPastenague. Aug 18, PM in response to Designtypegeek. You are entitled to your opinion, but the real question might be whether they ever will.

Feedback – AirPort Extreme – Apple. Aug 21, AM in response to Rudegar. It was unknown to me at the time that the current Airport Utility for Windows does work on Windows Aug 21, AM in response to Designtypegeek.

Turns out setting up my old Airport Extreme and connecting my Apple TV to it eliminates the timeout delays I’m having when using Netflix.

Something related to a poor router supplied by my ISP. Netflix on phones, laptops, and my PS3 all running fine. Erratically; if you use Airport Utility at certain times, it will work, but it will fail to pick networked devices up at other times. Usually picks devices up a few seconds after I have booted up the computer.

Thereafter, it’s hit or miss. Dec 9, PM in response to LaPastenague. Dec 14, PM in response to Keith Wilson. I’m in the same boat. But Apple ignoring the rest of the world forced me to switch over to Linux and Windows.

The few devices which are left don’t work with anything but Apple and they will be not replaced anymore when they bread. I have not yet tried uninstalling Airport Utility and reinstalling it. The version has never changed from 5.

Oct 21, PM in response to mdbratch. I did everything I could to duplicate the problems people are having. In the end, I was able to duplicate both Airport devices being available only after restart, and only for a short time, to not being able to see Airport devices at all. After using the windows Program and Features to uninstall both iTunes Had the latest downloaded and Airport Utility 5. Reinstalling netted the same issues. I’ve been an Tech for almost 30 years, as well as Lw Enforcement.

IT stuff when IT isn’t available and more for some extra vacation cash. Anyway, what the IOBit Uninstaller does is use the programs individual uninstaller. Anyone who’s worked with Windows knows, no standard uninstaller cleans up completely. In this case, some of the Bonjour DLL’s and registry entries were left behind. IOBit Uninstall will prompt you to create a restore point in case of issues. Do that. Use it to uninstall both iTunes and Airport by clicking the Batch Uninstall checkbox in the upper corner, then select both itunes and airport utility.

It’s also useful for removing trial software and other bloatware that may have come with your machine, freeing up hard drive space. Since you’re going to let it create a restore point, you’re at little risk for any problems. I’m finding version differences between computers, so this may be the culprit along with rogue entries in the registry left over from the constant iTunes updates.

Do it. Let it scan for the files that the installer log shows remain as well as the registry entries. The registry entries are important because it could be messing with Bonjour having it stop, even though the service. I do, however, suggest deactivating iTunes prior. I’ve not had any issues with it being activated after the reinstall, but I’d rather not use up one of your activation’s if not necessary. After this is complete, reboot the computer. This will ensure the System no longer even see’s Bonjour as a service.

Install Airport Utility 5. If it works, wait a reasonable amount of time and try the airport utility again. If it still works, install the latest iTunes.

Try airport utility again, and all should be good. If you have an Apple TV or other ios device, Home sharing is pretty awesome as long as your computer is running. I bought a cheap HP core 2 Duo with a gb Solid state drive that uses little power.

They mirror each other, so the HP has home sharing on, but shares the media from the networked devices. It’s a low power machine, so leaving it on and setting the power options to low power but not to sleep nets a whopping watts under normal uses. That’s less than the time machine! Oct 22, AM in response to DigitalGenius. DigitalGenius, I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to not only painstakingly reproduce the issue, but to come up with a detailed, tested, and documented procedure to resolve.

I followed your steps to the letter this morning, and so far so good after several hours of operation. I’ll continue monitoring to see if it sticks. Oct 22, AM in response to mdbratch. Sign in. Sign in Sign in corporate.
