FMC signs up to Mouth Cancer Awareness Walk

by adminjay

A team from FMC, dental communications leader in the UK, is signing up to the Mouth Cancer Awareness Walk.

With more than 8,700 new cases of mouth cancer in the UK each year, it is the 14th most common cancer in the UK.

‘With mouth cancer on the rise, it is more important than ever to help raise awareness of the disease,’ said Guy Hiscott, head of editorial at FMC.

‘Therefore we’re delighted to take part in this year’s Mouth Cancer Awareness Walk; we all have a part to play.’

Mouth Cancer Awareness Walk

Taking place between Friday 1 October and Tuesday 30 November 2021, the Mouth Cancer 10km Awareness Walk is a free, sponsored walk.

The Mouth Cancer 10km Awareness Walk is designed to increase awareness of mouth cancer. It also helps celebrate survivorship, create an opportunity to meet friends, remember lost ones, and also have a fun time!

Historically, this annual event is in Hyde Park in London. People travel from all over the country to take part.

Given the pandemic, the Mouth Cancer Foundation is therefore bringing the Mouth Cancer 10km Awareness Walk to you.

In it together

In a bid to challenge the whole team, the FMC walkers will collaborate in an effort to walk multiple 10kms over the duration of the 60-day event.

Keep your eye on our social media channels to see how we get on (@Dentistry)!

The 16th annual walk starts today on the 1 October. Visit www.mouthcancerwalk.org to register for the free walk.

Taking part is simple. Walk a total of 10km, as many times as you like, on your own or with your family and pets, around the comfort of your own home, garden or local area!

The walk is open to everyone, anywhere, including dogs/pets, of any age and ability. Just remember that all walk activity should adhere to the government’s social distancing policy at the time of taking part.
