During National Smile Month, The Oral Health Foundation embarks upon a nationwide search to find special individuals, from all areas of the United Kingdom, who deserve recognition for their impact in the community.
It is your opportunity to let us know about an unsung hero in your life who always manages to raise a smile on your face.
Whether it is a family member, friend, colleague, patient – we want to know about anybody who you feel deserves some recognition and appreciation for being that extra bit special.
To give you some inspiration, here are the four winners that were chosen as part of Nominate a Smile 2018.
- Isabelle Puttock – This wonderful woman from South Shields was nominated by her granddaughter Joanne for managing to put a huge smile on the face of everyone she encounters despite her ongoing battle with dementia.
- Trish Maitland – Our Stonehaven sweetheart Trish truly goes above and beyond for each and every person she meets and. according to her manager Leianna, she has “one of the warmest smiles that would ever greet you.”
- Chrissie Warden – The youngest winner of the 2018 competition, Chrissie, is a newly qualified dental nurse and was nominated for being an uplifting presence for the colleagues she works with and the patients she treats at her practice in Hampshire.
- Dery Tuopar – This Ghanaian born surgeon, from Northamptonshire, received very high praise from colleague Rebecca, who nominated him for being “the most influential and knowledgeable surgeon” she has ever had the pleasure of meeting.
Throughout National Smile Month 2019, we will be selecting a winner each week and they will all receive a special prize from us that will certainly put a smile on their face.
