Word of Mouth: August 2018

by adminjay

In this month’s issue, there is only one place to start. It has been confirmed by health ministers that boys across the United Kingdom will be offered a vaccination against HPV (the human papillomavirus).

It is a decision that has been met with a great amount of approval and praise, following more than five years of campaigning.

A simple vaccination will save almost half a million boys a year from developing HPV-related cancers and disease. A swift implementation is now needed by government.

Also in August’s edition, you will be able to read about some interesting research which has found that female diabetics face a higher risk of developing mouth cancer, in comparison to their male counterparts.

You will also be able to learn more about the common oral health pitfalls that many of us make but may not be aware of.

We touch on where you should keep your toothbrush, whether it is safe to share your toothbrush with a family member or partner and much more.

Finally, we talk about subjects like keeping good oral health during the summer, the best way you can avoid having bad breath and some timely back-to-school advice.

Please enjoy this edition of Word of Mouth and once again, thank you for your ongoing support.
