This is a particularly special issue for us as it’s our 50th edition! A terrific landmark and a wonderful way to cap off a truly fantastic year for the charity.

In this milestone edition, we have an article based on the findings of a nationwide survey we did looking into how likely Brits are to donate to different cancer charities.

We make a call to help improve the oral health of children with autism by making better use of storytelling, and also look at a new study showing elderly mouth cancer patients being at high risk of hospital admission due to depression. We also announce our involvement in a Warwickshire-based recycling challenge, with a special look into how we go about re-using our old toothbrushes.

And finally, it wouldn’t be a December issue if we didn’t have a few very festive features for you. So to mark the beginning of the holiday season we have made our own Christmas list, with the foods and drinks we really should think about avoiding, especially this time of year. We also have some advice for you about how to get dental treatment during the Christmas period.

Thank you for all your support over the last year. Much of what we do as a charity simply wouldn’t be possible without you. From everybody at the Oral Health Foundation, we wish you a very happy holiday.
