Word of Mouth – October 2015

by adminjay

Yesterday, our team held the campaign reception for Mouth Cancer Action Month at the House of Commons.  I was delighted to be there and it was wonderful to see the room packed full of so many people passionate to raise awareness of the disease and really eager to make a difference in helping to put mouth cancer firmly on the political and media agenda.

Mouth Cancer Action Month and take just a few minutes to learn more about the disease.  We’ll have a mouth cancer special edition of Word of Mouth during November so please be sure to keep a lookout for it.

In this issue, we have HPV Action’s Campaign Director Peter Baker, discussing the case for extending the human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccination to boys.  He makes a really compelling case for gender-neutral vaccination, one of which we at the British Dental Health Foundation fully support.

We also have our views on the latest Public Health England report into sugar and its effects on our children’s health, while we also give some advice how to maintain and improve our children’s oral health.

There’s lots more, including facts and tips on dental phobia, 12 things that are bound to put a smile on your face, oil pulling explained and advice on treats as we approach Halloween.

I hope you enjoy this issue of Word of Mouth.
