The Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel DiTullio, as the organization’s director, government affairs and dental practice. The MDS represents 5,000-plus member dentists and is a statewide constituent of the American Dental Association (ADA).

Daniel DiTullio

DiTullio most recently oversaw government and community relations in the Office of the President at Assumption University in Worcester, MA, where he acted as the liaison with all local, state, and federal government bodies for the University. This will be a return to Beacon Hill for DiTullio, who began his career serving as a legislative aid and later chief of staff in the office of former State Representative Harold Naughton. Dan joins the MDS with over twenty years of government and community relations experience, and has an extensive background in legislative affairs including positions in the public and private sectors as well as higher education.

“We’re fortunate to have Dan join our team at this pivotal time for oral health initiatives in Massachusetts,” shared MDS executive director, Kevin Monteiro. “He comes to the MDS with a wealth of hands-on experience in legislative and government-related functions that will allow him to hit the ground running in support of our 5,000+ member dentists and millions of patients across the state.”

In the role of director, government affairs and dental practice, DiTullio will collaborate with the MDS Board of Trustees to strategize and implement the organization’s legislative agenda. He will work closely with internal and external key players to influence public policy, communicate policy positions, and promote MDS oral health advocacy efforts across the Commonwealth.

DiTullio is eager to start contributing to the team. He shared, “I followed the “Yes on Question 2” ballot campaign and was impressed by the scope and effectiveness of those efforts in the fall. For a ballot initiative to pass with more than 70% of the vote is a monumental victory. I look forward to working with the outstanding staff at the MDS and utilizing my experience in government and the private sector to best serve the needs of our members,” shared DiTullio.
