AACD Celebrated 40 Years of Esthetic Excellence in National Harbor – Dentistry Today

by adminjay

The 40th Annual American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Scientific Session concluded in National Harbor this month. More than 700 people attended the four-day educational experience, which included esthetic educators from around the globe, inspiring hands-on sessions, and memorable social events, culminating in the AACD’s annual awards gala celebrating the Accreditation and Fellowship Classes of 2024.

AACD 2024 National Harbor featured an expertly curated selection of topics and speakers which were purposefully selected to keep attendees ahead of the curve and maximize their CE dollars. Attendees were swept away by the educational program consisting of headlining educators, Michael W. Brumm, DMD, CDT, FAACD, and William Strupp, DDS, FAACD; Carlos de Carvalho, DDS, MSc, PhD; and Amanda Seay, DDS, FAACD, and Adamo Notarantonio, DDS, FAACD, among a variety of hands-on workshops and lectures.

In addition to rich educational opportunities, the scientific session allowed the Academy to recognize and honor its members who demonstrated their dedication to continuing education and responsible patient care by becoming an Accredited Member or Accredited Fellow. This year, the AACD acknowledged eight newly Accredited Members and one newly Accredited Fellow Member. Other exemplary members of the Academy and of the profession were recognized and honored with the Celebration of Excellence Award known as the Evy.

Attendees also enjoyed opportunities to unwind and catch up with friends and colleagues. The social events began Wednesday night with the ’80s-themed Welcome Reception. On Thursday night, attendees ate, drank, and golfed the night away at TopGolf, as they raised funds for the AACD Charitable Foundation’s Give Back a Smile program. Concluding the scientific session was the 40th Anniversary Ruby Jubilee Celebration of Excellence closing reception featuring fine dining and delightful dance numbers. In addition, AACD inaugurated Adamo E. Notarantonio, DDS, FAACD as its new president during the Ruby Jubilee.

AACD 2024 delivered an exceptional continuing education experience for dental professionals passionate about pursuing excellence in the art and science of cosmetic dentistry, but there’s plenty more where that came from. The 41st Annual AACD Scientific Session will take place April 3-5, 2025, at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego.
