Word of Mouth – May 2016

by adminjay

We’re almost halfway throughout National Smile Month – our charity campaign to improve the nation’s oral health and really get members of the public to think about the importance of a healthy mouth. The support we have, and continue to receive, is overwhelming. Thank you to all of those who have taken the time to get involved – your participation and enthusiasm is what makes the campaign such a huge success.

It’s also great to see so many of you posting your Smiley photographs and selfies on social media. Platforms such as Facebook and Twitter are becoming increasingly important vehicles in educating people about their oral health. More importantly, these messages do not just reach those who visit the dentist regularly, but those who do not.

Please continue to educate and spread positive messages through social media, and also keep posting those Smiley photos throughout the remainder of the campaign. You can share these on our National Smile Month Facebook page, or through Twitter, either @smilemonth or #SmileMonth.

So far, more than 3,500 organisations have signed up to support the campaign. It’s a terrific achievement. We estimated more than 100,000 health professionals are taking part in one way or another and will directly influence in excess of five million patients across the UK.

It’s the 40th National Smile Month, and it’s wonderful to see the campaign going from strength-to-strength.

Thank you for your continued support and I hope to enjoy this month’s Word of Mouth.
